Esbjörn Jorsäter
What is your name and how would you briefly describe what you do?
My name is Tomas Karlsson and I spent most of my childhood drawing in my room on the island of Tjörn. Today, many years later, I am still sitting in my room drawing. But now the room is in the small city of Alingsås. I have worked with a lot of different things. Everything from animation to big wall-paintings. I have drawn in courtrooms and worked with calligraphy, but the thing I enjoy the most, are doing illustrations that make people think.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I spend a lot of time running in the forest, competing in orienteering, and I am also drawing orienteering-maps. Eyebrows are usually risen when people find out that I am an expert on Swedish motorsport history and are writing articles in car magazines. I also write songs and sing in a little band.
What does your work table tell us about you?
I can't really understand why, but my table is drowning in paper. The space that's left for me to work on is shrinking and my drawings are getting smaller and smaller. I think the reason is that I like to have a lot of things going on at the same time.
