Sametinget (a Swedish government authority that monitors issues relating to Sami culture) hired me to illustrate a fish they wanted to use to encourage children to speak the sami language. The fish, GiellaGuolli (which means language fish in sami) would be a char with fins in different colors representing the five sami languages. The char should also be cute and likable for children.
