"Bread and roses", lapel pin
The cartoonist network Dotterbolaget wanted to have an enamel pin made to celebrate May Day. They wanted it to be linked to the labor movement’s holiday without being overtly political.

"Bread and roses" is a political slogan where bread symbolizes what is necessary for survival and roses stand for the beauty and joy in life.
Att använda mig av ett redan poetiskt slagord och göra det till bild utan ord blev mitt sätt att undvika det plakatpolitiska.
