"Fanny", scenography
Borås City Theater was staging a play set in 18th century England. The set designer’s idea was to have old-fashioned hand painted theater sets in ropes and rails, based on contemporary illustrations. I tried to bring a dirty and disease-ridden England to life with humor and detail in my images, which became the models for the sets.

Interior: a cabin in the woods for women who knew medicine. It was important to get the perspective and scale right for the scenery to work on stage.

Interior: boudoir in a brothel in London. I used a lot of reference images and texts in my research. What did the furniture, everyday objects and buildings look like? Where did you sleep, what did you eat, how did you go to the toilet?

Freestanding objects from different scenes. The lines and grayscale are simple and without effects so that the set painters could easily translate my models into larger paintings.
