In my illustration, I wanted to capture a nostalgic feeling from childhood, when visiting grandparents somehow always meant coming home with a little money, often tucked into a white envelope. The allowance didn’t need to be much, but the feeling of having something entirely your own to spend was magical. A freedom to maybe buy some candy from the corner shop or save it in a piggy bank for a future dream. And nowadays, allowances mostly come via Swish, so I thought this image was a fitting tribute.
